walloffamephoto“While working for a restaurant chain in Chicago, a friend recommended restaurant-related sales.  I secured a position with Edward Don & Company and sold on the south side of Chicago for five years, particularly – equipment, china, glass, silverware and furniture – everything used in restaurants.  Subsequently, I moved to Houston and started working for Sysco.  I have been with Sysco for 31 years.  Nine years ago, Sysco promoted me to President at its location in St. Louis.  My education at SIU gave me the foundation, skills and confidence to enter the workplace and find my way to several excellent jobs.  I owe a lot of people immeasurable debts for their help, but the Food & Nutrition Department and Henrietta Becker, in particular, are close to the top of list.”
