Kass“I graduated with a degree in finance from SIU in 2010. During my senior year, I worked as an undergraduate assistant to the controller at the Alumni Association. Since graduation, I’ve worked for a wholesale produce company. We buy produce from all over the country and distribute it to stores and restaurants that reach from Chicago to other areas, such as Milwaukee and Indianapolis. I’ve worked my way up to where I am now — the financial director. My experience both in and out of the classroom at SIU helped prepare me for the demanding work schedule that I have today. I am currently applying to the online MBA program at SIU.

I am giving back to SIU because I love my university. It is a shame that public universities in this state haven’t received funding for so long now and are facing budget cuts and layoffs. I plan to give back as much as I can now and in the future — whatever my means will enable me to provide.”
